#179: Randy Cleveland - Escaping The Rat Race

He’s done the corporate 9-5, but started investing in real estate before leaving his full time job to venture out into franchising. Bio
Randy is an Entrepreneur, Small Business Owner, and Real Estate Investor. Escaping the rat race is Randy’s biggest accomplishment and although he still works today, he also enjoys a flexible schedule and hobbies such as boating and travelling—30 countries so far and adding a new country this December!
On the Real Estate front, Randy has built a modest portfolio of 15 rental units where 6 are personally owned and 9 are joint ventures. This was instrumental in transitioning from corporate employment to self-employment. Randy is still adding more joint venture partners for future investments.
On the small business front, Randy started a chain of Buy & Sell stores in the GTA called Buy & Sell Kings. There are currently stores in Oshawa, Ajax, Scarborough, and Toronto. These stores sell new and used items including video games, jewellery, electronics, power tools, musical instruments, and more. Over the years Randy sold the Scarborough and Toronto locations and currently operates the Ajax (95 Bayly St. W.) and Oshawa (199 Wentworth St. W.) locations.
Prior to becoming a self-employed entrepreneur, Randy worked 10 years in the corporate world as an Electronics Engineer in California and a Project Manager in Toronto.
